About the Event
Our hike
This will be another OMAZING overnight hike/yoga retreat with PeaksandPoses. We’ll be spending Saturday night above treeline at Madison Spring hut. This hut was the first AMC hut built dating back to 1888 but newly rebuilt. It greets its guests above treeline at the most northern point of the Presidential range. The views are incredibly picturesque with views of several mountain ranges and incredible sunrises!!!!
Our hike up Valley Way or Airline trail is about 4 miles to the hut. Depending upon the weather, we can drop most of our gear at the hut and continue .4 miles to summit Mount Madison elevation 5367' or onto Mount Adams, 5793'.Â
Depending on our hike Saturday, we could catch the sunrise on Mt. Madison on Sunday morning or hike to Mt. Adams before we hike back to our cars.

What will our day be like?
We'll meet at the Appalachia Trailhead parking on Route 2. We'll stop along the way to take in the views strike some poses and of course snap photos. We'll arrive at Madison Spring hut to unpack and have a plan to hike one of the two mountains nearby (all weather dependent). Â Back at the hut, there is a common area to chill, read, do yoga, or venture outside to walk around the area.Â
Our hut stay

Madison Spring Hut offers co-ed bunkrooms and separate washrooms with toilets. The crew will provide dinner and breakfast family style. The huts are fun as you meet other hikers and often people who have been staying at the huts for years! The bunkrooms are not heated and have no lighting. Electrical outlets are not available. You must have a headlamp with extra batteries and bring a portable charger for your phone.Â
Our stay above the treeline will be an extraordinary experience.Â
